Watch What You Say

watch-what-you-say

Welcome to this weeks pastor’s corner taken from the book of Ephesians 4:29 which says “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

As a group of frogs traveled through the woods, two of them fell into a deep pit. The other frogs peeked in and told these two that they were as good as dead as it was impossible to come out. Ignoring the discouragement, these two frogs tried to jump out any way. A while later, one of the frogs, lost its spirit in the constant discouragement and gave up…and died. The second frog kept on jumping. The more the others commented, the harder he tried. Finally, he jumped out! “Didn’t you hear us?” asked the frogs. “I am a little deaf. I thought you were cheering me on”, answered the frog.

Beloved, encouraging words can make the difference between life and death and success and failure. They can go a very long way, influencing a person for one day or for years to come. We know that this world can be a difficult place, a place where we have all kind of challenges of everyday life….. jobs, kids, home, families to juggle around our time and with that being said sometimes we forget about being the encourager that God want us to be. The bible says in Proverbs 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.

It is our prayer that God will give you kind words, smiles, and encouragement to share with family, friends, and the world. If we would all focus on doing something nice, we could have a significant impact on someone’s life; it may be the difference between life and death for that person that day. Until next week, Calvary blessings upon you!
