Welcome to this week pastors’ corner taken from the book of PROVERB. 2:10-11, which says- ” when wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you”.
Beloved, wisdom wants to point your attention to the fact that we should be discrete on certain matters relating to our lives and others. The word DISCRETION-: means, the quality of behaving or speaking in such a way as to avoid causing offense or revealing private information.
Two things we should understand from the above scripture in reference to the definition-
1. There is more security and protection to those who do not expose much of themselves by what they commit to the hearings of others.
2. There will be a breach of trust and offense when what anyone commits to your trust becomes public knowledge.
” Revealing private information” of yourselves and others may become harmful when it gets to the hearing of the wrong person or people for who it was not intended for.
We thank God for the media age that we find ourselves in today, but such media platforms have become a playground without boundaries where private information are exposed for public consumption, ungodly solicitations, and perversions against the Christian conscience and morals, and the lists just goes on and on.
Your private information is left to the detriment of yourself and others without fully considering the damage it could bring. PROVERB.12:26-says, ” the righteous should choose his friends carefully, for the way of the wicked leads them astray”. This was David’s prayer in-PSALM. 141:3-4,- set a guard, “O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with men who work iniquity; and do not let me eat of their delicacies”.
It is therefore my prayer also that PSALM. 141:3-4 will be your portion in Jesus name.
Till we meet again, Calvary blessings.
