Welcome to this week’s pastor’s corner taken from the book of PROVERBS 19:17 which says ” ‘Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.”
Beloved wisdom would want us to know that your giving is not in vain. A man, whose heart is full of compassion to the poor, and whose hands gives to their needs from a sincere heart, is in fact giving unto the Lord. The bible says in Proverbs 11:25 ‘A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.’ God has given us the opportunity to be a blessing to others. Scripture makes it clear that when your heart is set on blessing others, God will bless you in the process. In this life, God can increase you in worldly substance– financially, in material possessions, as well as temporal and spiritual things like larger measure of grace and a peace which surpasses all understanding. The bible reminds us in Deuteronomy 15:10 ‘Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou giveth unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou putteth thine hand unto.’
It is therefore our prayer that as we enter the season of giving that we will not withhold our hands from the poor, for they will always be with us and as we give, God will bless the works of our hands. Until next week, remain blessed!
