Clean Your Glasses

clean glasses

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and welcome to this week pastors’ corner  taken from the book of  Matthew 7:1 which says ‘Judge not, that you be not judged.’ This morning I would like to read a story:

A young couple moved into a new neighborhood.  The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbor hanging the wash outside. “That laundry is not very clean”, she said.  “She doesn’t know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.”  Her husband looked on, but remained silent.  Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comments…….

About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband, “Look, I see she has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this?” The husband said, “I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows.”

Beloved, what we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we are looking. It is easy to criticize others faults and failures but the bible cautions us in John 8:7b saying ‘Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.’     It is our prayer that the reflection you see will be free of spot or blemish so that you may be able to see the good in your neighbor. Until next week, Calvary Blessings upon you!
