Welcome to this week pastors’ corner taken from the book of Proverbs 25:11, “A word fitly spoken and in due season is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.”
Beloved, the words we speak are very important to our life and also to the life of those we speak to. God used words to create His world (“and God said let there be light…”). In a similar way, we create our own day by the words we speak and the words others speak to us; they influence our thinking and our actions. God is deeply interested in not only what we say, but also in how we say it. He cautions us in Ephesians 4:29, “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” We should be careful with the words we speak to others as we are with those we speak to God. When we choose to allow negative words to dominate our thoughts and speech, we will become filled with anger, worry, fear, and even low self-esteem.
Therefore it is our prayer according to the word of God from Psalms 19:14, that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord.” Until next week, Calvary Blessings upon you!
